Curious about CBD? We answer your Frequently Asked Questions

CBD (cannabidiol) has grown rapidly in popularity over the last few years, and for good reason – it is purported to improve health in a number of ways and aid certain conditions. When used topically, it is also an excellent addition to massage therapy. If you’ve yet to try CBD, let us answer some of your most frequently asked questions!

  1. What is CBD exactly?
CBD is derived from the cannabis plant. Assumed to be safe and nonaddictive, CBD is one of more than a hundred cannabinoids found in cannabis. To be classified as CBD, it must not have more than 0.3% of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) within its formula. THC is the psychoactive compound in cannabis that gives users a “high”. Products containing more than 0.3% THC must be sold in a marijuana dispensary.
  2. How does CBD work?
Generally speaking, CBD acts by restoring homeostasis or balance in the body. When there is pain, stress, or dysfunction, CBD regulates our body’s systems to help bring them back into balance.
  3. What kinds of CBD do you offer?
As an add-on to your massage, we offer a choice between coconut salve, lavender creme, and sports cream. We have samples of each of these in our reception for you to try. Retail, we sell these 3 products as well as body oils, tinctures, and a balm (the most potent).
  4. How much CBD do you use during the massage?
We use individual jars containing 125mg CBD. We usually use it all during the massage, but if there is any left over, it is yours to take home.
  5. Where do you buy your CBD?
Happy Buddha Hemp is based in Hotchkiss, Colorado, where all the hemp is organically grown in soil that is 50-years pesticide free.
  6. How can you be sure this is the highest quality CBD on the market?
While lab testing is not required by the FDA, the purity and potency of all Happy Buddha Hemp products are guaranteed by 3rd party laboratories and results are posted on their website.
  7. Can CBD show up on a drug test?
Yes, there is a small chance because it contains a trace of THC.
